WhaleLO Cookie Policy

Version 1.0 — last updated 15 August 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how WhaleLO ("WhaleLO", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the WhaleLO website at whalelo.net and related applications (the "Platform"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies (such as local storage and tags) work in comparable ways. They help a site function, remember choices, and understand how visitors use it.

2. How we use cookies

2.1 Essential cookies. Needed for the Platform to work — for example to keep you signed in, maintain your session, and remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off through the banner because the site cannot function properly without them.

2.2 Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors find and use the Platform so we can improve it.

2.3 Product experience. We use Microsoft Clarity, loaded through Google Tag Manager, which helps us understand how visitors interact with pages so we can improve usability.

2.4 We do not use cookies to sell your personal data.

3. Your choices and consent

3.1 Visitors in the EU, UK, and EEA. Analytics and product-experience tools are disabled by default and run only after you select "Accept" on our cookie banner. Until you accept, only essential cookies operate. You can select "Decline" to keep them off. This is managed through Google Consent Mode.

3.2 Visitors in other regions. Analytics and product-experience tools may run by default. You can decline through the banner where shown, or through your browser settings.

3.3 Changing your mind. You can clear the choice stored by the site (through your browser's site-data settings) to be asked again, and you can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how the Platform works.

4. Third-party services

Some cookies are set by third parties that provide services to us:

4.1 Google (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) — see Google's own privacy and cookie information.

4.2 Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity) — see Microsoft's own privacy information.

These providers process data under their own terms. We do not control cookies set directly by third-party providers beyond the settings described above.

5. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date shows when it was last revised.

6. Contact
